LAPITHUS

Son of Apollo and the naiad Creusa and brother of Centaurus. Lapithus settled the Peneus river region and married Orsinome. They had two sons, Phorbas and Periphas, who reigned in this district calling their subjects Lapiths after Lapithus. (Apollodorus iii)
